To be honest I find watermarks a little bit outdated. Most big youtubers stop using it a while ago and I don't really think it will up your "peformence". Maybe you get some brand awarness but when it comes to youtube your channel and you as a youtuber should be "the brand"

Of course if we are talking about business type videos, that explains a service or a brand, yeah, makes sence to have a watermark there.

Hey Anwebservices. Ok so I saw this feature on Youtube a while back and I went and Googled how to add a watermark. I make a little watermark with my name on a transparent background but it is oh so tiny. You can barely even see it.

Do you know if there is a way to make it larger, or perhaps it there a recommended image size I should be using?

I would appreciate any tips and help on this because I can't help but think that I have somehow gotten it all wrong. Yes I have a watermark but I am hardly impressed with it.

Hi Lynne!

No you didn't get it wrong, you actually did it right, however the image scales down to i think 64x64. So if your watermark is a large image, they will automatically scale down the image to a 64x64 scale dimension.

I was thinking of ways to include your name without it showing so small, however it seems the only way to do that would be to include your initials. You could try to put your last name under your first name, and see what that does for you.

Ok thanks Everett, I thought that I just got it wrong. thanks so much for letting me know that I got it right.

I will see if putting my first name above my surname makes it more noticeable. Do you think that if I try different colors for my Youtube watermark it will make it more visible?

I can't remember where I got my information from when I did mine but I seem to remember that person recommended white and that is why I used white. What are your thoughts?

White will be the best color, this is due to the background of videos, usually the background is much more darker so white would appear better. Also, using a white text makes the video look much more professional.

You could also use a logo, maybe like a cartoon version of yourself, or use a picture and remove the background so the image is transparent, that would look professional as well.

Thanks Everett I will look into those ideas, it just would be so nice if you had a magic wand and you could make it appear just a little bit bigger. I never see mine and I want to.
