Have you discovered Firefox Hello yet? What is the point in it?

Last night I accidently found out about Firefox Hello. Which apparently lets you browse a web page with a friend at the same time as them. It's sort of like screen sharing. You click the Hello icon and a link is created. You then give people (your friends) this link and then you can both view that page at the same time. But I don't get it! Why not just give them the URL to the page and then they can visit it for them self anyway!?
Have you discovered Firefox Hello yet? What is the point in it?

According to Firefox it's

Quick, easy and ready to go
One click to send your friend an invitation.
No logins, passwords or accounts required.
Nothing extra to download — all you need is Firefox!

Made for sharing the Web
Collaborate and make decisions in real time.
Share what you’re looking at, safely and securely.
Invite friends, even if they don’t use Firefox.

But like said, surely they could just visit that page themselves. So I don't understand what the point of it is. If they've got an Internet connection, then they can just visit that page for themselves. You just give them the site URL or page URL and they can visit it. So someone tell me what is the point in Firefox Hello?

Thanks!

Is it not the same as screen sharing? You know like you can let people see your screen on Google Hangouts for example? But the I suppose it is only for the internet so it would not be the same.

It is the first I have heard about it. And no I can't see the point really?

I don't like it. I disabled Firefox Hello, and Pocket. I don't see it's usefulness for me. All they do is just clutter up my browser, and it seems when I have to update or reinstall Firefox those 2 things keep coming back on the browser, it's quite frustrating. Firefox should give you an option if you want those two things installed, as I'm sure I'm not the only one who immediately disables or deletes that plugin.

Thats nice why did you want to disable it,is just like a teamviewer you and your friends can share and talk via it.
I love it anyway but i just hope they re not using it to spy on someone!!!

You are right with your line that says “what’s the point?” But in fairness to you, I guess that simultaneous browsing is a novelty that is reserved for the younger generation. They are the internet users who have a lot of time and they love to do experiments. But I think that function will not be appreciated much because there’s nothing unusual in browsing a particular web page and what it gives you when you browse it simultaneously with a friend? It may just be a waste of effort perhaps?
