    How Will VPS Help Webmasters And Freelancers?

    I have been reading about how VPS have become useful in many areas including carrying out webmaster and SEO related tasks. In what ways can a webmaster use a VPS for daily work.

    Have you used it for any of these tasks before?
    What were your results?

    I use to us a vps all the time for my SEO software and whatever I needed to use for scraping, pinging, list building, etc.

    I would always use a vps so that my own ISP couldn't be tracked back to me. If you use your own connection at home when using these types of software it could really piss off your ISP because of how much resources you'll be using up. If you're using these types of software to do all your automated SEO work then there's a high chance you'll get in trouble if you're at home and not on a VPS. You'll get in trouble with your ISP because some of the forums, websites and blogs you're posting on will track you back through your IP and contact your ISP in order to cut your connection and prevent you from posting on the pages again. Your ISP isn't very understanding when it comes to third party complaints and they will cut you off almost immediately. Sometimes when this happens you won't even get an email from your ISP letting you know they have gotten a complaint on you and that you should either fix what you're doing or stop it all together. They'll just cut you off and then you have to call them to figure out what's going on. This is when they'll tell you that you were abusing their services and they had to let you go. It doesn't matter if you pay $35 or $3,000 a month for your internet service, they don't like abuse and claims that their users are being bad.

    So to play it safe, I use a VPS in Russia to host all my SEO software because they don't care about complaint normally and all I have to do is change my IP every 2 weeks for $4 and my scraping, posting, and everything else is safe How Will VPS Help Webmasters And Freelancers?

    As a webmaster I use a VPS servers to host my website instead of shared hosting because you get more freedom on it and it provides higher uptime which is crucial to create a successful website. I also have a separate VPS to backup my files. Since you can get VPS servers for very cheap now, it will be fairly cost effective to backup your files using a VPS. You can get a 250GB backup VPS server for as cheap as $15.

    I also use my VPS server for freelancing work. For example, I use my VPS to test my php programs for my clients.

    As discussed above a VPS offers various advantages to webmasters as well as to various freelancers. First of all it is cheaper. Besides with a VPS the webmaster will be in control. This is because it allows him to have more control over the server via the Root access. Apart from that as a VPS can allocate more disk space along with monthly data transfer when compared to web hosting, this results in better security.
    It is also easier to manage overall. If the server is down or there are some sort of security issues ultimately it will not be your fault.
