Feeling nervous after eating

Whenever I eat food I feel nervous or jumpy for at least an hour afterward.

I don't know what this feeling is about but it's very unsettling.

If anyone has this issue please let me know what it's about.

Your body is just trying to metabolize the food. You might be feeling a burst of energy based on metabolism which causes your body to warm up. Just get up and get out of the house to go for a walk. Even if you do some light house work or yard work, that could be enough to take the edge off your nervousness. This will help you to burn calories too.

Maybe you are still hungry. You are assuming that you ate enough foods. And, maybe you did not. Have a sandwich or light soup and see if you feel better afterward.

What type of food are you eating? If you have sugar rich foods, that might cause a temporary spike in your energy level. Also, having a caffeinated drink such as cola, coffee or tea with meals can make you feel nervous afterward.

What you eat are not made enough nutrition for your body. Is these reason may be you feel nervous. So i think you need to eat some nutritious food.

Are you eating a lot of sugar? Sugar tends to make me jumpy whenever I've had too much and I started doing a short exercise that makes my heart palpitate. I do not know about nervousness though, I've never experienced being nervous after eating. But maybe try changing your diet first? If it doesn't work then you may want to consult your doctor.

You should place your feet on a stool after you are done eating. This will elevate any feeling of unease. Also drink water and relax for about half an hour before you get up from your eating position. However, the best advice would be to visit your doctor.

Let me tell you that is not the general way of feeling, at least not after eating. When we eat, the acid should be neutralize and all the basic ph will rise up. That is what make us feel some kind of sleepy right after we eat. But apparently you are doing the opposite. Maybe you are eating spicy food, or maybe you have some issues with your stomach. Best thing to do is talking to your physician. Make sure everything is ok.

I enjoy eating and never felt any nervous attitude. I would advise that you visit the doctor to know if there is something wrong or ways that you can feel better after taking your food.

It that nervous feeling after eating happens all the time then you probably need to consult an internist. My suspicion is either gastritis or acid reflux. My husband has that problem hence I know the symptoms. In your case, you might want to try taking antacid when that nervous feeling comes. The antacid will calm your stomach and the nervous feeling will disappear. I think you feel nervous because of the upset stomach which was actually caused by the acidity of your stomach.
