How to get through the day with no sleep?

Last night, I had to be up very late working, until around 2 AM. And then woke up around 7 am to leave the house on an errand.

I tried to rest earlier with a nap but it did not happen, though laying down in the dark actually helped some. I felt very peaceful then.

I have lots of work that I need to do today. I can't just go through the rest of the day in this groggy haze.

I still have about ten hours or more before I can lay down to go to sleep for good.

I just need some tips on how to get through today without feeling so groggy.

Tea and Coffee will help to some extent. Also after an hour or two move away from your computer for a couple of minutes and while doing nothing will also help regain some energy.

What ever you do I strongly believe that 6-7 hours sleep in every 24 hours is a must no matter how old or young you are.

A good breakfast to start with and instead of taking two full meals, take short meals with regular liquid intake to keep your brain fully active and performing to its potential.

Having some sort of fitness workout for 30-40 minutes in a day will also help keep you super active. For example I start the day with 45 minutes of swimming and during winters when I don't swim I don't feel that much energy in my head.

Sitting inside in the stuffy room will make you sleepier. Take your laptop to the porch and sit out there in the breeze and sunshine and that will keep your mind clear and help you feel fully awake.

Just take a nap and you will feel better later. Nothing will make up for the lack of sleep especially if you were active during the day. The activity just tired you out more. Rest your body and you will be fine.

My body requires sleep or else I am crabby and cranky and can not focus. I need at least 8 hours a night but if I don't get it then I make sure to hydrate myself well during the day and start by getting some blood moving in my body so I am not so tired.

Cola, coffee and strong tea help me get through my tired days.

Maybe some quick exercises to get the heart pumping. Jumping jacks or running in place is good.

Seriously, I don't know how you can stand the whole day without a proper rest. When that happens to me, I feel dizzy and angry all day long. I can get very anxious and start doing clumsy things. I know for sure people use to drink coffee or energetic drinks, but that will make you feel better for a couple of hours. After that you may be feeling even worst, because the few energy you had was wasted with the caffeine rush. So be clever and go to bed to get some rest, and avoid a crappy day next morning.

Dear, you need to take some rest every day in order to continue doing what you enjoy doing. Lack of rest can contribute to issues such as a constant headache and lose concentration while working and I believe this is not your plan for staying awake to work.

This reminds me of the days when I was new in our office and was part of a project that needed monitoring 24/7. As part of the team, we were always on call and no breaks given except that we could sleep in the office. I was okay on the first 2 days but my body seemed to be giving up on the 3rd day. We were given vitamin drinks and boiled eggs to fortify our body. Coffee was there in the pantry all the time. Even if I am not a coffee drinker, I had to take black coffee just to perk me up. But sleep is really what I needed.
