Commenting on Youtube

How come they are not allowing youtube comments unless you have a G+ account? How long has it been this way?

I've only ever made comments on a Youtube video while logged into Google. So I assume my Google+ account and Youtube are connected as I use both regularly.

There are a few times when I'll make a comment on a really good video. But that's only if the video is actually extraordinary. Otherwise I would just watch and move on to another video.

There is no advantages of commenting on YouTube videos, i think comments are only for showing off.

But if you want to let someone know how good they did or if they are right about something or such, leaving a comment is a good thing.

I was actually going to say the same thing. If the person did a really great job, leaving a positive comment is just a way of showing support to say 'keep up the good work'.

RIght and it feels good to get these comments. Who does not like to be told that they do a good job?

They want to promote google+. What better way than to force everyone to have a G+ account to do anything?

I know that I do! It just reassures someone when they are doing the right thing!

I have a Google+ account anyway (as I have all things Google) but for anyone who doesn't, it's no big deal unless they just feel compelled to comment on Youtube videos. Now, if Google made it mandatory to have a Google+ account to actually watch the videos, not just comment, then their social network would easily grow larger than Facebook.

I don't mind having to login or use my Google+ account for Youtube related purposes as I'm always using both sites anyway on a daily basis.

Rules are rules if that's the only way to do comment on Youtube videos then we have to go with that.

And, I'm sure they changed it to that method for commenting with very good reason. Maybe it was related to spam or something else but now we all have to deal with it.

I'm glad the accounts are connected now as that means more exposure for my Google+ account when I comment on a Youtube video. That could result in more traffic to my profile and to my Google+ page, which is what I would want anyway.

I didn’t know that you need a Google Plus account to comment on Youtube videos. We are campaigning to get more views for our videos and maybe that is one reason why we don’t find enough comments even if our social media posts are getting a good number of likes and comments. It looks like Google is trying to gain full control over us with their new policies. Where before you could open the Adsense account by directly using the email sign in but now you need to have a Gmail account.
