This major Google change will affect your website!!!

Two days ago i received this email from Hostgator staff. It's important for all webmasters to keep your websites up to date with latest SEO changes called Mobilegedon, so here i wish to share it with you:

In the immortal (and prophetic) words of Humpty Hump and Digital Underground: Stop what you're doing, 'cause we're about to ruin the image and the style that you're used to.

No really. This is big. And it just happened last week.

Not long ago Google announced that as of April 21 "we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal." That's a major change.

But what does that mean exactly?

It means that preferential ranking treatment is now given to sites that are "optimized" for mobile. It also means that having a mobile-friendly website is no longer a nice option to give your customer—it's absolutely essential.
The good news is it's pretty easy to see if your site makes the grade...

First thing's first: Test your site's mobile-friendliness RIGHT NOW.

If you have WordPress blog and it doesn't pass this test, i may help with responsive and mobile friendly design. Just contact me....

Good luck

It's not a surprising change as no one has time to sit in front of laptop all day. They are likely on mobile device, smart phone or ipad viewing a site, on the go and out of the house. So we must hurry to catch up. Hopefully all sites are mobile friendly and won't struggle for ranking after this.

This is an old update but it is still relevant to me because now I have learned a lot from this site regarding SEO and websites. Majority of internet users are now using mobile browsers and I guess the number is growing every day. If your site’s design is not yet responsive then you are losing potential traffic not only from the search engine but also from the users who will exit your website that is not mobile friendly.
