Bounce rate means a searcher landed on your site, didn't see what they were looking for and left within the first 5 seconds. You want to make your landing page as user friendly as possible and make sure that the links bringing traffic to your site are good quality links. This way when a searcher clicks on a link and is directed to your site, they find the exact services or products that made them click on the link in the first place.

my own experience, the rate of drainage of your site should not exceed 60% for the escape rate your site exceeds this number, then your website is not really important visitors attention to many and it is hampering the customer to buy the product or service you are offering.

YOu want a small bounce rate. You do not want others coming to your page and then leaving right away.

Bounce rate (sometimes confused with exit rate) is an Internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and "bounce" (leave the site) rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site.

Generally speaking, bounce rate for blogs is really high.
You can add related posts with interesting thumbnails so users will more likely to click through your site.

If you want a super easy way to dramatically improve your site metrics overall...I'm talking dramatically decreasing your bounce rate, while increasing your time on site and page views per session you should check out the BackJacker WordPress plugin. My site went from 70% bounce down to 18% bounce after I implemented the plugin.

You might want to be careful with that.... sounds a bit like cloaking.....

Bounce Rate is the measurement of traffic flow to your website.

If it is a relatively low percentage, it means your visitors are staying on your site for a longer period of time reading and having interest in your site. This is one of the main goals when you are an owner of a website.

If your bounce rate has a high percentage, it shows that your website isn't what your visitors are looking for, OR there is something within your site that's turning them off. This is something that needs to be rectified as soon as possible, as this is a red flag. Unless you have a squeeze page that has little information on it (email capture page-normally has a very high bounce rate), you shouldn't have a high bounce rate.

Your bounce rate will ultimately tell search engines your content is relevant in regards to keywords your visitors search for.

Thank you for your detailed explanation on the subject. Now I clearly understand what a bounce rate is and how it is related to SEO. When the bounce rate is high that means the contents may not be interesting to the readers so it will have a negative effect on the SEO of the site because search engines may suspect that the contents are not relevant to the niche. That is new information for me.
