Is Blogger good for getting backlinks?

Should you try to get backlinks from other blogs (blogger.com) in the comment section? Or, how would you use Blogger to get backlinks to your own blog?

Back in the day, blog networks worked; that is, interlinking related blogs that you own. But, I'm not so sure they work now with Penguin, unless the blogs are highly related in niche.

Put up a good blog post on Blogger and then link to several do follow social networking sites and backlink to your main site. That is the best use of Blogger now.

You would need to get links from well established Blogger blogs, not just ones you have recently started.

I think that you could use BLogger for some of your links. Anyways it is worth a try.

Not through posting a comment on other blogs but by creating your own blog and linking that to your site. Works all the time but nowadays you will have to treat your blogger blog as an independent site to add some relevance to the backlink you create to your main site. In other words, you have to keep updating your blogger (or any other free blogging platform) blog and also build some links to it before linking back to your main site.

Sure...why not. I mean if it gets you some traffic to your site then it was worth it.

I would simply create a a blog of your own on Blogger, and add relevant content to it, then link out to your main site from it. Google expects that serious companies would use blogs like this.

It's also a DoFollow link, so it passes link juice.

Also, Blogger web 2.0 properties can have the page authority, moz rank, etc pumped up and boosted to increase the value of the link juice.

So yes, they are valuable. Very valuable actually.

Weebly and WordPress.com are other sources for Web 2.0's that can be pumped up like this too, and they are great for diversifying your back link profile.

Yes, definitely. Just like any site, the Web 2.0's should be built with good articles, some pointing to your main site, some not linking out at all. Some posts should point at authority sites as well, like Wikipedia, etc. to help build trust for your readers and for Google.

That's usually true, but depends on the blog theme you are using. For instance, some Blogger type blog themes are actually no follow. So you will want to test out all your backlinks being posted on your own Blogger blog by using the Nodofollow plug in.

I don't think commenting on a blogger blog is a good way to generate backlinks as most of the comments give nofollow backlinks. In order to profit from blogger, you have to build your own blogs and backlink your main site. I think this is the best way to generate backlinks from your blogger blogs.

I didn’t know that the comment you leave on a blog in Blogger is not useful. All the while, I thought that leaving your footprint as a comment is effective and beneficial since other readers of the blog can see your comment and probably click on the link in your signature. That will also result in traffic. However, I am not well versed with no-follow link so I cannot give a clear opinion on the subject.

The only benefit of commenting is getting traffic. If you leave a meaningful and insightful comment along with a link to your site, the other readers and even the blog owner will check your site. Therefore, commenting on blogs is not bad actually. However, if you are commenting for backlink purpose, it is not very helpful.

I doubt if it is possible. I think you have to put more work into it and create the backlinks for yourself. I see backlinks to be easy on wordpress. I am currently using blogger and I don't have a single backlink. I use free hosting though.

My site Google webmaster shows a link from blogger.com. Earlier I just create a backlink on my other site which has a custom domain in blogger. But now webmaster show link from that domain as well as from blogger.com RSS feed of that blog. Can I go for disavowing or not?
