Can Someone Recommend A Good VPS?

So I need a good solid VPS. Want to start my Seocheckout affiliate stores. I have 2 scripts and 2 EMDs for keyword phrases getting 30,000 monthlies and all $3.00+ CPC low comp.

Problem is, as a noob, who do you think I am hosted with now? Ipage.

So before I started installing scripts I knew I had to switch hosting providers. Began my research (for the last month) and finally came to the conclusion that ultimately I will need a VPS.

Does anyone know a solid provider with a good price. I can start off minimal and upgrade. Looking to spend no more then $30 a month.

PS: Needs to allow adult content Can Someone Recommend A Good VPS? Thats in the future after I get all my affiliate stuff goin' for seocheckout.

Thanks in advance!

I have to ask why you feel you need a VPS at all. It wouldn't be for the affiliate stores because most of the bandwidth is pulled from seocheckout, as all the scripts I've seen grab the pics from here. All the affiliate store scripts sold in the marketplace here are just holder templates pulling the SC feed and images, so they don't really have any "content" as such on their own.

Even if you got all 30000 monthly visits in one day on a shared server it would still be fine. I've had 51000 in 2 hours and never crashed, as it goes more by database queries than bandwidth these days. It was only until my main site hit a million visits a month that I was asked by the host to upgrade to a larger account from my shared one.

An average VPS will run you around 50+ bucks a month, but I strongly suggest using a decent shared host first and use the extra money saved towards good advertising.

Good luck! Can Someone Recommend A Good VPS?

Its not just for the affiliate stores. I already have other sites I have worked on and an image site with adult content. Most of the good hosting companies I've come across like Site5 do not allow adult content. Host gator used to be the go to but now that they've been taken over by EIG......... I am just waiting to install the script if I am just going to have to transfer it anyway. I am pretty much a noob and have never transferred a domain to a VPS. But if a good VPS is going to run $75 a month that sucks up a big chunk of budget I have left over for investing at the moment. I will try to look into more hosting companies, do you know any good ones. Last one I checked that allowed adult content was HawkHost.

Thanks for the help

Ahhhh, yes, if you plan to run an adult image hosting site, that WILL suck your bandwidth hard. I had one a couple years back that became such a headache I ended up selling it for dirt cheap just to get it out of my hair.

I hear ya on the Hostgator thing. They used to be my #1 recommendation, as I never had an issue with them until they got taken over, but now they suck hard too. They are painfully slow and down pretty much every day now at least a few minutes. Just a bit ago I tried to do a simple site update on one of their servers that should have taken 20 seconds that ended up taking 10 minutes. Ugh. I still have sites hosted there but I no longer recommend them.

Then there's Godaddy...don't even get me started on them! lol

All the good VPS hosts I used to know are now gone, unfortunately....

Yeah I checked out dreamhost throughout my search this month. There expensive. They have $25 plans but they suck. 300 Gb HDD 300 GB RAM...... need I go on. I found a VPS on Black Hat World way better than that, there is just a lack of support and with me being a noob I need a company with support.

Reading all the VPS provider names in the conversation makes me dizzy. Hostgator & GoDaddy are good when you are just crawling up the web. Once you get mainstream in they suck, real bad !

I have been hosting my & my client's apps on Digital Ocean. Once sites go serious there is Media Temple & LinodeVPS. The industry standard for VPS hosting... !

Tip : Get a $10 VPS from digitalocean.com . Perfect to start for & you get two months free too on that link.

I thought cloud and VPS were different. Whats an SSD cloud? I've been studying and trying to see how difficult it is to run and manage a Windows VPS because I heard Linux maybe difficult for a noob. What is the cloud SSD? I am really in the dark when it cmes to all of this hosting stuff. I just barely started understanding what they are.

Cloud means a huge cluster of computers joined together to share resources for a activity. Now,you could put a vm software and make them run VPS or you can put a software like WHM to create a shared hosting. Also, in a VPS, you can install WHM to provide shared hosting.

Now, SSD is Solid State Drive. Good hosts like digitalocean provide servers where the storage unit is SSD instead of conventional hard disk. This gives you an advantage as SSDs are 10x faster.
Take for example you are using normal hdd with read speed of 50mbps and you have 1000 visitors on your site requesting @ 1mbps. Your server will only be able to serve around 50 - 100 visitors at any point of time because it can only serve visitors at the speed it reads from hard disk. Now, imagine a SSD which is like 10+ times faster. It will be able to dispatch information for all 1000 visitors at once.

If you ever need any help regarding vps or hosting, you can hit me up. I have been playing with them for years now !

Just choose a VPS provider who's datacenter is geographically close to your target audience. Also a host that is fairly close to you, since you'll be the one accessing the VPS the most. As for reliable option in US, can put forward a recommendation to look at QHoster.com. The server uptime and overall speed performance are outstanding and consistent.
