How long was it before you got your first forum member?

Did you have to wait very long from the time you opened your forum to the time you got your first full time forum member?

On my friend's forum where I'm acting as admin, we got our first forum member within the first few minutes of officially putting the forum online. The forum had been heavily advertised though on my promotion forums, so that's not very unusual.

Are these forum members still active, even now? Sometimes, the first members on a forum will go inactive after awhile.

I am not comfortable with this topic because what I understand with a new forum is that you have to have members on the first day. And not only some members but a substantial number for the forum to start rolling. Maybe at least 10 members on the first day and a continuing entry of new ones on the following days. I have seen a forum that started with 6 active members that had a hard time on the first 2 weeks. But on the 3rd week, maybe due to effective marketing, new members came by droves because they enjoyed the contents of the boards. That means the 6 pioneers are good posters.
