Do you like posting new discussions or new responses?

I would prefer to post new discussions as it gives me a chance to talk about the things I want, rather than trying to run in on someone else's conversation and make possibly unrelated comments. By creating discussions, I can initiate a conversation about the things I want, rather than waiting for others to talk about what I like. Also, when I create a new discussion, I can always come back and talk with those who take time to respond, just as in a real life conversation.

Which way do you prefer?

I could post new discussions or responses easily, just depending on my mood or how much time I have to devote. For instance, if I'm in a rush then I might only post a response as it gives me time to interact with the forum audience without having to come up with an original discussion. But, if a thought is pressing on my mind and I want to share it, then I will create a new discussion to get an answer or talk it out with others.

I like creating new threads, and taking part in the discussions. I do like debatable conversations done in a respectful way. There's so many things to learn from others. I take it all as a learning experience Do you like posting new discussions or new responses?

Debates make a forum fun. But, as you said, only if done in a respectful way. And, there is plenty of room for diversity of opinion online.

I definitely post more comments than discussion topics.
However, when I am in need of an issue to be answered, it is good to come on here and post the question.
The feedback has been positive and helpful to me.

I would absolutely go with new responses... and trying to breath new life into old threads. I use to run a forum and had to create tread starters. After a while, I absolutely hated it.

I normally reply to an interesting thread and although I also post new discussions, I’d say it is minimal. There are times that I have a lot to share particularly if am very comfortable in a forum like those related to my niche or my work in the office. In those cases, sometimes I post several new discussions in a day and not much of responses because I feel the present discussions are not that relevant to me. But given a choice, maybe I am more comfortable in writing responses than in posting new discussions.

As you can see, my public profile shows 3 discussions. I have tried posting new discussions here but I see no reason to because I can usually find discussions here that are about something that I want to learn. Also, when I post my responses I see them right away.

I prefer to post a responds than a new discussion. Maybe it depends if I also want to open a topic or ask questions if I need someones help but I am likely for posting new responds. In that way I can also help others for there questions as well learning also from others. I would like to post a discussion but not now, maybe anytime soon if I have some questions to ask for.

New discussion is also a good thing because sometimes people are intimidated to ask some questions. New discussion makes you learn a lot as other members will answer your discussion. But both new and responses are important and should do both.
