Should quick delivery days increase with quantity?

Enabling this quick delivery option requires that you deliver any orders within the specified time period. Failure to do so will result in an automated cancelation of the order and possible deletion of the service. Quick delivery day value must be half of the original delivery days or less.

Currently, the quick delivery day value is the same, whether the quantity is one or one hundred.

So for instance, if your service has a delivery date of six days, then quick delivery would be 3 days or less, regardless of quantity ordered.

Quick delivery also adds a countdown timer to the order and when that timer reaches 0, if you haven't delivered, the order is canceled.

What do you think of this new feature and will you use it? And, should quick delivery days increase with quantity?

Hey Beverly,
I do believe this is a good feature and this will benefit both sellers and buyers. However, I do personally believe that the delivery time should be changed automatically if the buyers change the quantity. If I provide my clients with one specific thing in 6 days, I should be able to deliver that same service within 3 days if I use the quick delivery option.. That being said, if a client changed the quantity and wants 100 of that same service, it wouldn't be possible to deliver all of that in 3 days only. So I'm all for this new feature but I would prefer to change the delivery time along with quantity.

Best Regards,

Yes I agree with what you have said here. It just won't be possible for some sellers to be able to give a huge quantity in such a short time. And what if 2 buyers order 100 of each service at the same time?

Then the orders get automatically canceled if they are not fulfilled on time? I think this would create way too much pressure for sellers.

The only way I can see this working for fixed quick delivery date is if it is locked at one quantity only.

Yes Beverly, that is an option. Perhaps also availability should be able to be set by the seller too. What if 100 people each order one of the service at the same time? That will also not be possible for a lot of sellers. Is there a way for the seller to set the amount of current orders available at a specific time?

HI Bev thanks for make the issue in front of all user. So, I think everybody can leave their opinion for this issue. But no doubt about this featured is great and very effective like other new feature as more gig extra. So, Now all user can use more gig extra as seller want. And issue is quick deliver days increase with one more quantities or not? I should agree with if quantities will one more and quick delivery time will raise at a time. Because, 2 quantities means 1 more extra work. So, there should more time require for completing task.
For example buyer order for 2 quantities and existing deadline 5 days for 1 order and 10 days for 2 quantities.
And user should used quick deliver service lest then general deadline like 2 days considering with 5 days normal deadline.
But if quantities 2 still 2 days for quick delivery feature either order will cancel automatically. And here no logic if buyer will order 2 or 10 quantities and if he select quick delivery featured with extra paid and as a seller we must to deliver work within 2 days even for 10 quantities. So quick delivery time option should be adjust or increase with total quantities time.

My concern is that some buyers won't understand that it's not realistic to expect the same results from the seller on a two day deadline as he would get on a ten day deadline. Just saying that a shorter deadline will only allow just so much to be done before the seller runs out of time.

I think that it depends on the service and the amount of time required as the quantity ordered increases. In case of article writing for instance, if someone orders 1 article, it is going to take much less time than 10 or more articles. So I would prefer to have it increased according to the quantity ordered as it would otherwise be impossible to keep up. I think the aim is to offer buyers a better and quicker service, but from the seller's point of view it may not always be feasible, especially if he has several other orders to attend to, each with their own deadline.

Quick delivery option won't be ideal for every seller, depending upon what they are offering. Let'ss say it takes a freelancer 2 days to write one article including research. Then it's always going to take two days to do that job, not one day. And, rushing the job will produce very low quality results. And, buyers will complain. Quick delivery is a powerful tool but should only be used by most experienced person who can deliver the results within the short confines allowed.

I think that in the case of article writing it is not a very feasible option, correct me if I am wrong.

I don't think quick delivery would be a good idea for article writing. That's what I was saying. Nor would it be good for any writing such as forum posts or blog comments or anything that requires manual work. Any really creative service would not be ideal for quick delivery. Though something like Facebook likes or any social media service which could be provided via a panel, you could probably have quick delivery for.

This is a good idea because it can increase the income of the seller and the buyer can get their service quicker. This is a good question. I think the seller should have the option to choose whether or not their delivery days will increase with quantity. Some sellers will be able to provide services very quickly and they don’t need an increase in delivery days, while other sellers may need more time for higher quantities. For example, article writing may need an increase in delivery days while selling signature space won’t.

Another idea is that maybe you can do something like this:
  1. Seller chooses a number of days for quicker delivery for 1 order (must be half of the original delivery days or less).
  2. Seller can choose to get 1 day extra for every x extra orders they get where they can choose x. X has to be at least one so they can get a maximum of 1 day for 1 extra order regardless of how many days it is for part 1.

As you say, some services such as signature line space services won't require a lot of extra delivery days. However, just knowing you could get the seller's attention now would be something worth paying for. What worries me are the afk seller who rarely check into the site and are likely to miss these quick delivery orders anyway. That will result in cancelations and upset customers. That's why i'm hoping this feature will over time be restricted to experienced sellers, who will know how to use this tool properly.

Points to discuss :

1. If the buyer order multiple quantities, he must order multiple extra fast as well.

2. If there is no multiple extra fast, delivery time must get multiply for multiple orders.

3. I personally don't support automatic refunding and service deletion on late delivery. It takes lots of time to create a service and collect good feedback. I can suggest if the seller is late , they buyer should have the option to cancel the order and service deletion idea must get abandoned.

I don't see where it's automatic service deletion. Can you show me? Possibly there was a recent update that I'm not aware of or post made that references deleting a service when a seller can't fulfill quick delivery. As for the order cancelation that will happen automatically, otherwise there is no real incentive for the seller to 'hurry' and deliver on time. The point is for this quick delivery order to be seller's priority. If they can't handle the decreased time frame, they should not offer it.

The ability to "pin" orders to the top, manually, whenever you want, would be a superb feature for any sellers no matter if they offer quick delivery or not. Especially for sellers who's handling multiple orders each day. That said, I would also agree on what you stated above, regarding some sort of "special notification" for quick delivery orders, just so sellers would be able to see these faster, and also able to focus on those until they've been delivered. That way, none of these sellers who offers quick deliveries would be able to state that they "missed the order" due to all their new orders.

The idea of a pinned order is good (especially if the seller can make the choice about which orders are pinned) as the seller will know which specific order is most important to him and for his own reasons. For instance, a quick delivery order might look important, and automatically be picked by the system to be pinned. But what if the quick delivery date is five days. That might be lower priority than an order where the deadline is 3 hours from now. So for the seller, it would be good to have control over which orders are pinned and which orders are not. Also, as said before, I like the idea of being able to have more control over prioritizing orders - any idea to make that happen would be good.

I agree. I would go with automatically pinned orders for quick delivery ones (perhaps with a "quick delivery" sign on it), but I would also suggest to manually be able to pin your orders in any way you want. Not just "to the top" of the list so to speak, but manually be able to chose if I want this specific order to be on top or at third place in my list.

That would most certainly allow all sellers to finalize their prioritized orders and arrange them how they want. This should also be a superb option for all sellers so they can easily see what they need to do, and when.

I'm thinking if the quantity is one, then it stays the same, however if a buyer order a quantity greater than one then it should reflect with the delivery days. For instance, if a seller is selling a drawing of some sort, you ordered 10 quantity of the drawings and if it takes the seller about 3-5 days to finish the drawing but you have quicker delivery set at 2-3 days, then the seller will be overwhelmed with the service, possibly pause the service, preventing other buyers from purchasing it, and that is not good business. I think per quantity it should go up based upon the quick delivery days.
