    What do you think the just released Google update will come with? What they target now?

    A day a two a go Google just realest a new penguin update that will affect like 7% of searches (they say) .

    What did you notice about this and what are your feedback

    7% seems like a lot! Usually their updates affect less than 1%.

    I haven't noticed any changes in the ranking of my sites. Hopefully though Google will live up to their promise and get rid of these affiliate websites on page 1 that use crappy spun content. I still have many sites ranking higher than mine that have unreadable content. They are benefiting from targeting extremely low competition keywords with high search volumes but using crappy websites and content!

    This is what I had spoken about in my first message that yes I am so happy that Google has stepped it up so the honest qaulity content SEO agents do not have to play dirty to promote honest work!!!

    But what i'm saying is they haven't stepped it up yet. Many of the products i target in the health niche have websites ranking on number 1 spot, with very poorly spun content! Google needs to penalise these and rank websites with quality content. this is what they are supposed to have done, but they haven't!

    Hey John,

    So this update you are talking about occurred in May and was to help fix the websites that had been wrongly effected by the penguin report it was more or less just tweak to the system.

    Most feel that the penguin report was and is negative however my team and I beg the differ and I personally feel its one of the best things that has happened to the world of search engine algorithm that finally we have a code that must be cracked and not every idiot with software can do it.

    We stand for quality not quantity and when I search for a website that I personally need, I do not want to get a site that is ad based and not there to help solve my problem but to help solve that persons money problem or just to put money in their already fat pockets.

    OK so I answer your question here are what the Google team is also aiming for while trying to stop spam,
    *Improved dictionary search feature by adding support for more natural language searches.
    .* Addition of a live result showing schedule and scores
    *Better HTML5 resource caching for mobile. We’ve improved caching of different components of the search results page, dramatically reducing latency in a number of cases.
    * Better ordering of top results using a new and improved ranking function for combining several key ranking features.
    *Bamse. This launch helps you find more high-quality content from trusted sources.
    *komodo. Data refresh for system used to better understand and search for long-tail queries.
    * PitCode. This launch adds live results for Nascar, MotoGP, and IndyCar. This is in addition to Formula1 results, which were already available

    Ok I could go on with all 86 launched but I will stop there, however let me in short explain to you that what Googles goal is besides the stopping of easy rank, software rank and spam. Google is building a more LIVE search, this is to be built at first around football, soccer, olympics to show live results happening, also news and more importantly for google their new google plus.

    So this was to increase the results found in search to be more accurate and helpful, to bring live results and to stop the easy software and spam.

    He's talking about the minor update that occured a few days ago. And it affected 0.7% of users not 7%. I thought that was way too high!

    Maybe I was too generous with the percentage, I will go and check the source again, but very possible that I was misread it since 7% is too much for me too for a minor update.

    Yea I realized that but I just though he was directly speaking about Penguin's latest update, and ya I also thought 7% was really high there would be a lot more news about 7% then there was about the latest change.

    Thank you for elaborate answer but I like to believe that I have some knowledge and I pass the newbie part...

    By posting this question I try to find out other users opinion so maybe we can find a way to come closer to "defeat" Google

    There are not any new update's from penguin john, here is a list of these new updates by Google.

    Panda 3.9.1 — August 20, 2012

    Google rolled out yet another Panda data update, but the impact seemed to be fairly small. Since the Panda 3.0 series ran out of numbers at 3.9, the new update was dubbed 3.9.1.

    7-Result SERPs — August 14, 2012

    Google made a significant change to the Top 10, limiting it to 7 results for many queries. Our research showed that this change rolled out over a couple of days, finally impacting about 18% of the keywords we tracked.

    (May 39-Pack — June 7, 2012) This is the last and latest PENGUIN update.

    Google released their monthly Search Highlights, with 39 updates in May. Major changes included Penguin improvements, better link-scheme detection, changes to title/snippet rewriting, and updates to Google News.

    I understand you may be past the newbie stage and I did not mean it that way these forums are for others to read also, however like I said the last update for Penguin as you asked is shown I hope this clears what I was explaining earlier but I completely understand what your saying and excited that someone else here has posted this in a attempt to open a conversation about it so total props to you all the way new friend!

    They announced the latest tweak on their live twitter feed a few days ago! However, it was for Panda not Penguin! Seems like seomoz is a bit behind!

    As long as your site is decent with legitimate contents then there is nothing to be afraid of with the next Google Update. Just remember that Google is not the only search engine that we can also get traffic from Bing and Yahoo and from the other minor search engines so there is no point in focusing too much on Google. It would look like we are obsessed with Google if we would be speculating on the next update.
